Black Thumb sketch on artist proof.
I've started to incorporate oil paints into the Black Thumb sketches to get a little more control, and a greater range of values. Though I need to experiment with different whites, as titanium is a bit too cool.
Two queens, both rulers of foreign kingdoms.
One yields a sceptre of the sun,
and the other, a staff of the moon.
With clashing ideals and values, how will this play out?
It dawned on me that Angelia and Dianna are polar opposites, which is interesting.

oh we're sharing thumbnails? I have 2 flavours, client work and my own stuff. My own stuff is barely decipherable even to myself.
One thing i do like doing is ~values~ when thumbnailing and if i had infinite time my own work would get this treatment as well!

I've been going through some of old photoshop files and trying to figure out how i could improve them by doing quick overpainting sessions. here's a pirate i made a few years ago. I didn't want to make a complete overhaul, just some small tweaks to the gesture and values.

my fave thing about art is figuring out how to do stuff, playing until it makes sense and i understand why ✍️✍️✍️ eg: the two wips here, the first time ive ever painted values first, and some super light lineart because i never do that either
