Greta Gerwig's "Ladybird" is funny, subtle, & overflowing with details. The daughter/mother relationship is wonderfully written & shows us the never-ending inter-generational struggle for understanding. Saoirse Ronan is brilliant. 7/10

I experimented a little bit by combining some of my faces generated by with the "first-order-model" deepfake paper from Aliaksandr Siarohin.

You can achieve some astounding results especially with subtle movement.

Animated/lip-synced character icons come to mind.

Dirty "trick" to make your portraits look more alive:

Paint subtle saturated colors - I like reds and golds - in the shadows (B)
instead of having everything the same-ish hue/color as in portrait (A)

6. As for the glow, originally it was a subtle arm indication bar that would glow. However Ruby said that it wasn’t distracting enough during fights. She’d loose track of the meter and suffer. As a result, the body glow was added.

Although, for her, the center color is the color that eventually becomes her main color later (w/ yellow being central instead)
