With the more detailed sketch, I personally tend to keep my cats quite angular, mostly made up of triangles and squares

Whereas with ponies, rounder shapes and edges are used for a more bouncy, less fluffy shape

if you struggle with feature placement on the face i recommend starting with the nose, eyes, mouth etc first and drawing the head shape last! it really helped me with anatomy and more expressive faces/angles as well https://t.co/DqqIVW6ZIo
