Ahhhh I finally got a new fancy scanner!! It was a bit pricey, more than my goal on Ko-fi by a long shot but it's so good! Comparison below (1st is the old ver). Might have to start watermarking though...

It can even do all the colour balancing before scanning in 😭

Images of production cels featured in the extras of the first VHS (known as the Deficit Relief Committee Release). There are scans of some of these real cels we can reference too, but differences in scanning exposure/color doesn't always make them the most accurate.
