Here's Lee Mars' parody of Moebius' famous Arzach cartoons from Heavy Metal magazine.
It was originally published in Star*Reach in 1978, and was later reprinted in Star*Reach Classics by Eclipse Comics, in 1984, which is where my scan is from.

I’m figuring out a process for myself that allows me to paint (more) quickly. I start with a pencil sketch & ink loosely, then I snap a photo or scan it, then digitally do a quick value map of where i wanna put my lights and darks. Then I paint using that as a guide.
