So that’s my lot for today. This is an Illustration by Edmund Dulac (1882-1953). From ‘The Winds Tale’ His first commission was to Illustrate novels by the Brontë Sisters.

1810 a daughter Elizabeth was born in Chelsea to William and Elizabeth Stevenson (nee Holland). Her mother died when she was one & she was brought up by an aunt. She became famous as Elizabeth Gaskell, biographer & great friend of Charlotte Bronte, & a brilliant novelist.
