✨12/31 Sinosauropteryx✨This critter was no bigger than a cat, but was one of the most important Paleontological discoveries ever. The fossil of this creature preserved fluffy filamentous feathers that were so well fossilized, scientists could tell what color they were!

Even if Jurassic! is a bit too short for my liking, I'm so happy they included some actually fairly accurate-looking feathered dinosaurs.

My guess is that the genera featured here are Deinocheirus, Velociraptor (or Dromaeosaurus) and Archaeopteryx. What do you guys think?

The fossilized jaw bone of Siroccopteryx has a strange appearance and contains pits that paleontologists suggest are the result of abscesses draining after a major injury. https://t.co/LN9aorfp3O

Good evening everyone! Tonight’s Dino of the day is jinfengopteryx! Jinfengopteryx was a theropod discovered in China 🇨🇳. It’s name means “golden Phoenix feather”, taken from “Jinfeng” in Chinese folklore. See you explorers tomorrow! 🤠
