The Camelot Sports games had plenty of boys closer to the Princess' proportions, and females that come closer to the Bros proportions.

WarioWare shows boys with proportions closer to the princesses as well.

I've seen people comparing the new Eureka Seven character designs with studio Ghibli movies and I don't think they're far off. They're reminding me of Masashi Ando's works with their semi-realistic proportions.
