Kozman was part of the first class of the New Bauhaus in Chicago in 1941, and later taught design & printmaking there. He moved to Wisconsin in the 1960’s to serve as head of design at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.

For When Samuel Bak's (1933) home town in Poland was occupied by the Germans in 1941, Bak & his family were moved into the ghetto. At the age of 9, he held his first exhibition inside the Ghetto. He & his mother were the only survivors from his family.
