This started out as a study, which kind of evolved into a more detailed piece. It was good practice in rendering faces, and stuff like gems and gold. I definitely learned a lot doing this.

This looks like one of those big wooden cablespools to me; my mom painted and decorated them and then made stuff on them, so it stuck in my head really well.

Today was anatomy practice day. Instead of doing a longer study, I've limited myself to ~1 hour per sculpt, to see where I'd get in that time. 4 sculpts, with some meltdowns about taxes in between.

Still using Scott Eaton's Bodies In Motion for reference.
