It's strange painting a figure this small up to a fairly high level of finish. You could pretty much cover his face with your thumb. One shot for actual proportion, one at an angle to reduce glare. Photographing oil paintings is hard -_-

A more traditional sized chibi ! I swear I can do clean sketches, I just vibe with this light, quick stuff a lot right now.

tho I think I'll still need to tinker with proportions for this size I think ??? not sure yet. I'm very comfy with the larger size, but this not quite yet.

For smaller sprites, my method is to make a big sketch and shrink it down.

Make sure to shrink the head and body separately. With such small sizes, the proportions should be somewhat chibi-fied. That's so it's easier to see.

Also make sure to emphasize on a character's features
