SS. Nazarius and Celsus, Martyrs (68)
St. Nazarius was baptized by Pope St. Linus, and St. Celsus by Nazarius. They were both arrested and beheaded in Milan. Their bodies were found by St. Ambrose in 395. In the tomb of St. Nazarius was a phial with his blood, still fresh.

Random fact of the day
In 1139 the Pope banned the use of crossbows seeming them "deathly and hateful to God and unfit to be used by Christians"
It's unclear if the bad had any real effect, since we have evidence of crossbows being used trough Europe.

The Bunny Pope (The Bope if you will) who tells you about Bunny Jesus (Besus) who is the son of Bunny God (Big Toni)
Call it my love of foreign mythology/folklore, but the idea of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands celebrating Easter with stories about flying church bells going to visit the Pope in Rome, then coming back to their respective villages full of candy and toys has always sent me
The refusal of Pius VII to ordain bishop only the candidates chosen by Napoleon led the Emperor to call a national council, which opened #OnThisDay 1811. Cardinal Joseph Fesch took the side of the Pope against his nephew, losing the benefits Napoleon had conferred on him.
