It's been long enough that it's not super verified anymore, but the way I heard it, Sega wasn't very happy with the continued lifespan of the Archie comics, and certain members of Sonic team didn't like the characters or the world. It was too different from "their" Sonic.
As I watch Sonic Prime, I'm starting to realize how weird it is that people in and around the Sonic franchise very clearly still want the SatAM/Archie "freedom fighter resistance" theming but don't want to (or can't) touch the actual characters or franchise.
The next animation project I will work on is a Sonic the Hedgehog adaptation from the Archie comics.
The episode segment will be "Run, Sally, Run!"

Big Archie would still be a child, most likely not much changed in personality. There would still be childish joys, fears, and so on. But he would become a little more serious and cautious,
And that the end of Sonic The Hedgehog by Archie comics.
Nothing like ending on one of the best games in the series.
With was fun to read all, but i still need to read the final Sonic Universe arc.
