The previous indication that there would be english subtitle options were a misprint - I checked the Digital Store, Play Asia etc.

Whenever these "localization" situations occur, you'll inevitably see them claim that the change is not "significant". This is a method of conditioning you to accept it. However, if a change isn't significant, there is no reason to make it at all.
