He is actually a complete redesign of this much older character. I wanted to give him a more luciferian vibe to his design, without having to give him literal devil horns. His armor is engraved with a depiction of the serpent and he has marked him self with old hebrew.

The Norris portrait pattern is so confusing! It's been engraved as: Jane Shore, Lady Jane Grey, Francoise de Fox and now I have just found Mary Queen of Scots! Doubt we will ever find the actual painting.

The painter Angelica Kauffman astutely collaborated with engravers. Here a portrait of her engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi in 1780 and in turn her portrait engraving of J. J. Winckelmann of 1764 (see W. Roworth in September 2018 issue of Print Quarterly).
