I'm begining a thread of paleoart of fossil pycnogonids because I've always wanted to draw them and since I'm doing a bibliographic work this semester on their evolution it's the perfect occasion !

First of the list, the swedish cambrian larva Cambropycnogon klausmuelleri

Daliansaurus liaoningensis is a ~1m troodontid unique among Paraves due to having two elongated sickle-like claws instead of one, at 2nd and 4th pedal digits ("similar" to Balaur bondoc, which has them at 1st and 2nd pedal digits).

Last post was very sucessful, So what did i do? I made a shitpost to celebrate!
I don't feel like shading it as too much detail i think ruins the purpose.

This is exactly my new philosophy of paleoart that I've been thinking about for a long time, abandoning the extremely limiting goal of depicting only the "most likely" and exploring what is _possible_.

why is depicting what we humans* feel is "most likely" the ultimate goal to strive for in Do you get a prize or something if some day we find a complete dino mummy fossil & you got everything right?

*we humans who have been historically wrong about everything

Day 6: Bouquet. Protarchaeopteryx, unlike most feathered theropods, actually feasted on plant matter and was at least an omnivore if not a complete herbivore!

Day 5: Flame. Chenanisaurus was one of the last dinosaurs alive before the mass-extinction. The mass-extinction that caused havoc on the entirety of the environment, including wildfires.

A little paleoart of Lunataspis borealis, a newly ordovician species of horseshoe crab described by et al., I'm really glad to see more knowledge on ordovician xiphosurans being published ! https://t.co/jqOWj8OSd9
