With this series of smaller acrylic on canvas paintings (40cm x 40cm) I emphasised the semi-abstract nature of my work. By taking the 3-4 colour tone forms of #Japaneseanimation and reducing down their readability they almost became entirely #abstract colour formations.

@linke79 Not ignorant at all — a great question. Emanata are marks are various kinds that “emanate” from a character or word as emphasis. This image was the first I could quickly find in my phone — not a comic, but emanata-like lines are used to draw attention and emphasize the book.
When designing my magic system for my world, the main inspiration was Fire Emblem with an emphasis on using runes + sigils that help to channel magic. I just think it's really neat and looks super cool! So rather than having material and verbal components, it's just somatic
