I always liked muted colors and a number of Japanese artists use them very well. Or maybe they just know how to give the illusion of desaturation. Pair that with some sketchy linework and paint and you have my art heart.

I'm almost done with this one. I need to hand letter the text across the top and finish his left hand in the painterly style and the rest of the tentacles and chains and things in the linework style. It's all separated for animating. That's gonna be fun!
