Yeah, I tried doing a bit of change and paint Alpha with references for the textures (like feathers, porcelain, metal, etc)
I imagine that Alpha has a bunch of little stars, and they aren’t noticeable unless you’re really close to them

Did this for fun last night- I think I'm warming up to the more painterly feel my art has begun to take on. It's really fun to test out textures. I popped a noise filter on this last night and the feeling was just exquisite.

I've been trying to get back into doing textures like this, aligning the UVs perfectly enough to pull it off takes practice...this guy has got it down pretty good. Only program I could figure it out in was 3dcoat but I think most indie devs are using Blender for it right now.
