Lenny is half leprechaun, half wizard, and infamous for all the mischief he does. Ted is a well behaved clurichaun that wanders around a lot and eventually met Lenny on his travels. They're both outsiders that found each other.
I always wondered if the pokemon anime kind of removed the more dangerous scarier side of the original games moving after. Because of how different and rougher the gen 1 early works. Pokemon were more like monsters like in a jrpg.
I honestly never liked what the anime does.
He lets her nap because she looks adorable when she does.
