I'm working on a new piece about a robot named Tammy in a laundromat turned make-shift aquarium. For more complicated shots I use Sketchup models to get a feel for where I want the camera/lens length. Then I try to work out the composition lighting 1/2

This piece is starting to eat my life. But We're making progress (The background will Improve beyond Peak FITWD*) but final adjustments to composition done and flats are in.

A lot of people keep saying the new one looks really static, but no version animates after the finish. But the shirt and tail and hat naturally 'flatten' her design out in this pose, making it seem heavy, straight and flat. It's just compositionally weaker.
