Zdeněk Burian write-up and image collection by @Egonatello - https://t.co/Y89hOQ60wl
Much appreciated as high-quality online versions of Burian's #palaeoart are surprisingly hard to track down. Some of my favourites below:
Who Wants to Be a Palaeontologist game and digital dino caricatures in the salon, 3rd floor. #ScienceByNight = awesome!

Sauropod-dominated tracksite discovered on Scottish Coast. Middle Jurassic dinosaur fossils are exceedingly rare, but new discoveries from the Isle of Skye, Scotland, are beginning to fill this gap, read more.. https://t.co/ldkiRjDCQB #palaeontology #fossil

A foraging propalaeotherium has wandered to close to a brooding #Gastornis and is quickly scared off from the nest.
This was both a frustrating and rewarding paleo reconstruction to do. Coat is a little fantastical, but this was more of an exercise than a dead serious illustration. Panthera palaeosinensis is a basal member of the Panthera genus.
@SedgwickMuseum @EarthSciCam @morethanadodo These footprints were the centre of a #palaeontology #whodunit. Experts reckon they were made by Ticinosuchus, a Middle Triassic pseudosuchian (a crocodile ancestor).
Emperor Manuel Palaeologus, in his speech "Admonition to the people of #Thessaloniki", urged the #Macedonia|ns to fight to death, for this is what their historical tradition decrees: "because we are Romaioi (= Byzantines, Greeks) & our country is the one of Philip & Alexander"
Henry Thomas De la Beche, English geologist and palaeontologist, was born #OTD in 1796. He was the first director of the Geological Survey and President of the Palaeontographical Society.

Gotta shout out to ace @ROMtoronto palaeoartist @MesozoicMuse on her latest #BurgessShale recon, #Kootenayscolex. Completely awesome!
#TetZoo Accomplishments of 2017 4: technical papers - produced with, and led by, co-authors - were published or submitted on facial anatomy of the theropod Neovenator, plesiosaur swimming mechanics, the palaeobiology of the giant pterosaur Hatzegopteryx, and more.
If you're visiting @NHM_London tomorrow, join me at @NatureLive in the Attenborough studio at 12.30 or 14.30 to learn about the world our stegosaur lived in #palaeobotany

I wish I could sleep half as peacefully as this palaeosinensis. Going to leave it as-is, kind of a refined doodle.
Plumage design sketches for some small(ish) dromaeosaurs. #palaeoart
