@Kazuko_Lyn It's the hair positioning I think.
The artist has reused the faces from the time skip portraits for all of these new designs and drawn on new hair and clothes. Felix's hairline seems to be at a slightly weird position akin to the rest of his head.

Here‘s how I draw:
Left—first sketch. I worry mostly about composition and pose.
Right—with the pose done, I worry about Details and the expression, giving the character more personality and objects more finer forms.
Next step—colors and text!
The juxtaposition of the electric baby blue hair (sorry @burnttoast if I'm butchering the colour palette descriptors) against the olive skin, contrasted against the white spectacles is divine 🥰

[Sweet Pea of April] The project that took me a while, cause of all the drafts and research I did 😅. A gift for a dear friend's birthday! Took it as an opportunity to study too, this is my 1st work with actual composition. I applied 3 composition structures, can you spot em?💠✨
@Kitsuninja1 The art is some of my favorite I've ever seen in a comic period. The lighting and textures here are just so sick. Tons of really cool composition throughout as well.

Look at the body position of this character. It began with a curl, which she relates to 'mark making'. Seperate it our from drawing, as that brings in ideas of what's good & approval. Mark making is about you and what you want to express.
