This was a lot more challenging, but I’m glad I got to finish this piece I started quite some time ago. This time I experimented a bit with texture brushes on the skin and some neat effects and lighting. I like that my improvement is pretty noticeable.😁

@SpacePtrlLucia Try for dimension. Believe it or not, your brain actually knows more about lighting than you think it does. Even if you need help, get a ref and your head will start to catch onto what you have to do

Been trying to develop a lazy way of getting realistic lighting lately, I think the trick is to go to the extremes of dark and light within one piece, that way you can get contrast. If there’s a larger range of light in the piece, the lights look lighter and the darks look darker
