With the Mesozoic narrowly in the lead, here are a couple Late Cretaceous troodontids that I drew in colored pencil around Fall 2017: Gobivenator & Saurornithoides. #paleoart #throwbackthursday #paleontology #sciart #scientificillustration

June 12, 1870, birthday of German paleontologist Ernst Stromer von Reichenbach. Famous for the discovery of the holotype of Spinosaurus aegyptiacus 🦖 https://t.co/WS6p1E61aH 🦖🖌 https://t.co/lwAEnPuCZJ
Today’s very quick warmup sketch, I did not have a lot of time to sketch today. Imagine if you saw Carnotaurus walking towards you, probablynin a curious but slightly alert demeanor. #paleoart #sciart #dinosaurs
He doesn't have a Twitter, but everyone should check out Lucas Attwell. One of my favorite up-and-coming paleoartists with a knack for flora and a painterly style. He's only 18(!!!) which makes me want to die only a little. #paleoart #sciart #paleontology

Thanks so much to @commababy for the amazing artwork that accompanies this blog post! #SciArt #PaleoArt
I've been thinking a lot about pterosaurs this week, so here's #paleoart of two Thalassodromeus for #FossilFriday. Thalassodromeus had a very odd skull, even for a pterosaur: weird jaws, huge crest, and expanded jaw muscle space.

According to a thesis by @deak_michael, Tyrannosaurus may have had asymmetrical ears, much like an owl. Here’s a scaly version of the feathery “dish” concept (based on owls), drawn in about 6 minutes.

Much like digging up fossils, I am gonna dig up some ancient Jurassic Junes I've made previously! Enjoy!
Here's Kentrosaurus aethiopicus!

Ok, quick break from paleo stuff for this thread.
Some thoughts on the Pokemon News.
First of all, I really like Corviknight and Drednaw. The later seems to be based on a kaiju as a friend pointed out.
Either way, the best designs in gen 8 so far
A different, slightly more plausible take on a frilled Dilophosaurus by Qbliviens (DeviantArt).

I based the raptors colors off a roadrunner and I love how this came out! :)
