Today is the anniversary of the birth of Eugène Delacroix (1798-1863), the leading artist of the Romantic movement in France.
Known for painting historical subjects on a grand scale, his compositions are highly charged, full of colour, dramatic movement and emotion.
With the remarkable connectivity the world now enjoys, the heightened awareness of happenings and current events, the broadened historical perspectives tendered from sources here and there, human foibles and failings, I've found so much more to concern me.
