This always baffles me. 95% of my original drawings are pale and without much contrast and at this point I can't even tell anymore if I do it because I know I'm gonna edit it anyway or just because I'm still afraid of using bold colors & heavy contrast to begin with.

i work on a laptop with broken and toned down contrast so on my end it looks way more appealing than it would on a normal monitor (i dunno how to fix it)

I love the dream scene so much so I had to draw them. I know Cloud shot is from another scene but I just love his CGI face and the contrast between light and darkness.

Cloud is Aerith light and hope as much as she is his.

Hi there, I'm back with my 6th hard cel shade practice. I thought the pose and outfit looked pretty cool, but I felt this one fell a little flat in terms of the colours used. Perhaps I should have pushed the vibrancy/contrast of the piece a little more.

Also, I boosted the contrast on this and it feels much better now.

@gears2gnomes I actually had an iteration with rain-booties but decided I didn't like the eye flow. I preferred to keep all the visual focus to the head and neck area, so all the contrasting elements stay in that part.
