Those spiky boys, Agave L., are a common plant in the arid zones of America. They are similar to Aloe Vera in shapes, but harder to the touch. They are used to make syrup, but a certain variety, Agave tequilana, is used for,,, tequila. Nice.

Here's a bonus species that I whipped up in an hour or so - this variant nests directly next to vents in light oases, and may also be found near the Arid Side of Aeolidia. Might make another variant that can survive right in that heat, but it would need some desert adaptations.
