Here's some concept art of Jaq and Gus from Cinderella drawn by Marc Davis. It's interesting to see that drawing from Davis as he didn't animate the mice as he animated the titular heroine instead. The mice were animated by Ward Kimball, Wolfgang Reitherman, and John Lounsbery.

A new Disney cartoon fact: While it's commonly known that the character of "Emotion" in Disney's REASON AND EMOTION (1943) is a caricature of Ward Kimball, we've never seen it mentioned that "Reason" was modeled after Disney layout artist/storyman Leo Thiele.

There are so many Ward Kimball fakes (not to mention other Disney fakes) floating around nowadays. More fakes than actual originals in fact. And many are being sold by "reputable" auction sites. Do your homework and don't get swindled. Here's a couple more obvious fakes.

I do love how the animation for Knowsmore in Ralph Breaks the Internet does have some traditional animation for his eyes which Disney used so he could emote how they wanted. The animation for him was also influenced from animation by one of the Nine Old Men, Ward Kimball.
