A few words on why this is good. First off, the model is EXCELLENT. It elegantly captures the look of the Sonic CD anime intro and ending using very few polygons. Each break in the contour is similar to where an artist would have shifted their line in a drawing.

2/2 after that id keep duplicating the orignal shape and then either isolate parts manually with the zmodeller brush or use the split/ trim tools to make other kinds of shapes. Since its all coming from the original shape then the contour should remain pretty much the same too

I’m now trying various styles and this one is nothing more than “simplicity”. It’s quite obv that the pink-topped girl is my first “victim” lol. You can tell the contour looks much better for the pony-tai girl on the right. 😌

Experimenting with a lower strength 2nd layer of soft toon shading on the cloth. The flat shader hides the contours. There is now a hard edged toon, and 2 soft/blended toon layers at different sizes, and some AO. How much of each varies by material.
