1. Fresco painting is done in "giornate", or parts of a day. The correct term is "al fresco": the painter applies the paint on the wall when the plaster is still wet. As the paint layers overlap it is possible to reconstruct the order in which the parts were painted.

If I know the Plan/layout I can reconstruct in a few hours. My watercolour paintings would take 4 of 5 days. I've got a libary of building techniques stored away in my head that I can draw from over the past 40 years which makes it straight forward for me to 'see' the rebuild.
