Surreal as hell game, just beautifully crafted all around. The creator took digitized pictures of his slightly abstract (in a good way ofc) clay sculptures for the sprites, giving everything an otherworldly, topsy-turvy "every thing is wrong here" vibe to it.

Hell, Sonic 2 has some weird sprites as well. These clinging sprites, Sonic 3's actually look way more bearable than Sonic 2's.

Tried experimenting on the Undertale/Deltarune style a bit, ended up giving it a bit more elaborate shading than the in-game sprites, force of habit I guess lol

A lot of my Yume 2kki NPCs are based on old characters or designs I've made. I've finally compiled a set of all the NPCs I can think of that are made from old art. I still enjoy seeing people's own interpretations of these sprites, though!
