my favorite example of a "you can't do this anymore with modern tech" is something Okami did with its reflections, where, instead of using a real reflection here, it uses a stylized hyper-straight flipped model for this gate, highlighting how surreal and other-worldly it is.

i'm very impressed at how they were NOT afraid to prominently display Odin's ass in the battle sprites for PSG1.... and even more impressed at how it inflates and deflates between poses. True sci-fi tech. Also idk these sprites are really neat... reference noted down
