I added the linework and a couple little details digitally! I was thinking on doing that with watercolor as well and a very thin brush but someone in the comments suggested it and I decided to give it a shot :D

Scanned copy of Verstael wearing a crown and rings for that marriage Versdyn AU. I think taking picture is better with traditionally colored works than scanning. Too light colors become white.

a neat trick i learned on how to digitize stuff without scanning your pattern pieces - take a photo of your pattern piece on a cutting mat so you have a reference for length and width then in your vectoring program set your board to match that length and width and vector away!
