Our conservators have been working with students to practice different techniques of historical painting. All of their "copies" mimic techniques artists used to create works in our collections. Here you can see the early stages of recreating #Monet's "Red Mullets" from printouts.

This is a practice i think? I saw a couple of speedpaints from a Japanese artist and i observed their shading and lining style. I thought i'll try to mimic it and mix it with my style and this is the result.
Day 762: Rock! Tonight's result was iffy. Trying to mimic the natural edges and shading of rock is difficult and will definitely require some more studies in the future. It's a rough blend, but a good first step! These are fun to do and I'll get better and better!
