Why did it take me so long to remember that I forgot to show behind the scenes stuff
All of the goo was sculpted, didn't need to be anything complex as it's goo.
The sphere Grimoire holds is also only half sculpted as you're not suppose to see behind it

@jololion This being the first object it's absorbed, the creature takes on the sculpted forms of the sphere fairly precisely. It would seem to be fully inanimate, if not for its "eye" holes occasionally blinking at you... and that, if you get close enough, you can still hear its breathing.
