The floor of the woodland is littered with discarded hazelnuts while up above the squirrels rush this way & that feeding themselves up for cold weather. The ancient coppiced Hazel woods provide five-star habitat for squirrels and hopefully dormice.

🌿🙎‍♀️🔪The red ribbons wrapped around the discarded swords are duel bindings. Worn before a fight, the normally white strips of cloth set the decorum and limits for any given duel. That being said, a ribboned blade planted in the ground doesn’t bode well for its former owner.
