Fast Castle did reconstruction in 1987 followed corbel machicolations along as I thought it was a Hall block. But changed this when I found (in ruin painting) it led to part of a Keep which makes alot more defensive sense. So tweaked reconstruction. #FastCastle #ScottishCastles
East Lothian Castles of Dirleton, Tantallon, Hailes and Dunbar. Watercolour reconstructions. #ScottishCastles #HistoryRebuilt #Watercolourpainting

The Maus tank was nearly unknown to the Allies, as no accurate intelligence on it was obtained prior to VE Day. When three hulls and turrets were found in Meppen the hunt was on to reconstruct this monstrous tank. #tanks #history #ww2

@MarkWitton @skeletaldrawing It'd be interesting to see how much colonial exploits imprinted on our dinosaur reconstructions, and if colonial animal art compared to artworks of local, native artists. See how perception of animals changes with culture & geography. Could be an interesting multicultural study.
I guess I'll share some more stuff I've been doing with SG's redesign - in video form - though explaining what's going on here would take far more text than Twitter can meaningfully handle.
Let's just say "unfortunate run-in with robot reconstruction pseudo-parasite"
KNM-ER 3733 helped establish that #hominin evolution was a branching tree and not a straight line. Alan Walker famously cracked the skull into three pieces with a chisel to remove the hard rock from inside, enabling reconstruction of the face. #paleoanthropology #FossilFriday
lien-da's been getting it *rough* during ian's run between getting straight-up dusted from the future timeline and then the iron queen blowing her up, i know she's a villain but YEESH
it's kind of nice in a twisted way that she's been thrown a bone w her reconstruction
@JoschuaKnuppe I had a quick question for you. When reconstructing your Paralititan, what species did you use for reference due to the incomplete nature of the animal? Also, would you still stand by this illustration or is there anything you wanna update? Thanks!
I'm Jun from Malaysia, an arthropod nerd mainly interested on weird chelicerates and basal extinct taxa like radiodonts. I enjoyed making arthropod-related works through gijinkas, diagrams and reconstructions of some fossil counterparts.

One of the most amazing fossils I have studied is KNM ER 18925, a complete skull and mandible of Theropithecus oswaldi that allowed me to reconstruct the animal's head with unusual confidence. Exepctional specimens like this are a paleoartist's dream! #FossilFriday

I found the tag, so I'll piggyback on it!
I like Foiletta and Toiletta in this work. They have enriched my life. It's because of them that I am now.
I pray for reconstruction overseas!
My half-century today falls on #HillfortsWednesday - No better way to mark it than with a new view of Flimston Bay coastal promontory fort @PembsCoast. Not a patch on the pro reconstruction artists out there, but an attempt to imagine & visualise this important eroding site.
too tired to render but I reconstructed the cheekbone (above the lights) and the lights had to be reshaped
New one on the right
