A “still life” painting: depiction of inanimate objects for the sake of their qualities of form, colour, texture, and composition.

I think this entire painting was just an excuse to use this composition. I really like it. Work-In-Progress.

I guess this is sort of a before and after for a tattoo design from 3 years ago vs tonight. The one on the right is not quite done but just composition wise I like it much better already

aw yeah i love showing sketches! If it's a piece I have to consider the composition more I probably make a rougher sketch to draft out which goes where in comparison to making a sole character art.

These are my most recently saved panels. I don’t think about composition, I saved them because they made me laugh🥴 but I hope they’re helpful 🐣💞

My third portfolio painting, of a thief! I wanted to emulate the really stable compositions that I sometimes see in old storybook illustrations.

Friedrich included himself in his compositions, inviting the viewer to see the metaphysical landscape with himself as cypher. Wanderer (1817-18), Sailing Vessel (1818) & Greifswald Harbour (1818-20)

Edouard Vuillard’s c1900 oil Happy awakening, room scene of nude woman asleep on bed, odd composition displays high ceilinged room more than subject, Not especially appealing ART; My similar WC a more conventional composition:

I fixed the composition since everything was crammed to the left side. Twitter's crop here is better, too
