Did an experiment to see how the pokemon art style works and besides a bit of tweaking, I think I got it.

I made 2 Shellos forms for my Australian Region. It's dex says there are other forms, so I decided to make a south and north form.

After sending over a sketch that I was happy with, the client asked that the character be flipped so that certain smaller trinkets/details would be positioned differently.

This affected the composition, so the pose was tweaked slightly to have less horizontal momentum.

Figured I could go ahead and post this; wanna make a minicomic series about a grumpy charizard and a trio of cute pokemon! owo These are the initial concepts I made! They'll need some tweaking in style in particular for the comic's sake, but I like how they came out :)
