Hmm Tough one! But I like it! I didn't finish my current portfolio piece project, but here's an older one.
I wanted to create an underwater scene with some depth to it, but I think it turned out a bit sparse? Also the lighting on the mermaid is lacking I think.

The art style of this one is adorable. Good physics and sprites flying all about the screen. (Little shell-casings for every bullet you fire.) And the 3d forced perspective is really utilised well with the depth in the level design. I can't quite place why it didn't grab me. 🤔

Here's a quick rendered comparison + Freestyle in The sharp edges and creases on the 2D model "tell" Freestyle where the lines should go and exaggerate + define the form. There's also some visual things to know like the depth of the mouth.
