Pink Fairy Armadillo
Pink fairy armadillos are nocturnal burrowing mammals endemic to the xeric environment in central Argentina. They have been found south of Mendoza province as well as north of Rio Negro and south of Buenos Aires.
Humans are the only mammals with a clearly distinct uvula (Latin for ‘little grape’). It’s function is to lubricate the throat, and aid in swallowing and speech. Uvulectomy dates back to Ancient Greece, and uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (aka UP3) is an option for sleep apnea.
Day 5 of #mermay. Are they still considered mermaids if they're mammals?

Garoh cub!
Despite their appearance, Garohs are mammals and their young are fuzzy and adorable. Cubs grow their armor as they mature, and can learn to speak within their first year.
The species concept belongs to @alyssadelehoyanimation .
