Today’s chapter was the longest opening of any manuscript I’ve written thus far, coming in at 48 pages. This doesn’t bode well for a 28 chapter book, but no one said the journey through the 3 hells would be a short one.

My new How to Draw Manga Book publisher's page. I've just checked the translation first draft, it's so early!
Unlike last time, I didn't draw the cover illustration, they picked up some images from the manuscript. I wonder why they chose these faces...

The image of Rahu is from a Japanese manuscript brought over from China. I haven't seen Rahu associated with Shiva before. Rudra atop a bull is seen in the depiction of Ārdrā the nakṣatra.

“The manuscript was fun to read, but it made my work for the cover art difficult. How can one successfully distill enough of this novel to one picture and possibly do justice to the book ? It was a steep challenge.”

Hans Augusto Reyersbach was born today, September 16, in 1898.

In 1940, he and Margaret Reyersbach fled Paris on bikes, as Nazi tanks approached.

They had some clothes, some personal items, and a manuscript that would later become “Curious George”.
