Unless they're supposed to be a unique specimen, I like my robots to have uninteresting utilitarian names. R66-Y or T-260 are both fun examples.

Zoids is a mecha anime where everyone pilots giant animal robots. The first one was a rebels trying to defeat the evil empire style. The second one was robo battles for entertainment and profit.

I don't know what the current one is though.
