I cheat a little when making different faces on a single character in the same shot:
• copy(then hide)4 layers (fills/shading/highlights/line art)
• paste
• select and move individual parts of line art
• patch gaps and overlap of line art
• correct fills/shading/highlights.

Hair variations for YATTA! Gonna do eyes tomorrow but I'm already running out of layers
Was trying to do layer parenting earlier, but couldn't because my layers were drawn using the fluid brush. Switched over to the classic brush to redraw my character and it made a big difference. Lines are more consistent and you can use layer parenting. I am never going back.
I did a little experiment with @DangerRope 's character ❤️Tried to do a bit of dramatic lighting/shading! Lesson learned, use more layers next time xD <3

@DeviantArt Oil paint, omg. It blended too much and made it impossible to layer! I need layer abilities…specifically the magic of watercolor! It’s like using multiply layers traditionally haha
