To meet the Devil here, one placed a frog, caught under a full moon, in an anthill. It was then necessary to go to a crossroads where five roads met and, during the midnight bell, to invoke him. The Devil was then said to appear on one of the five roads. #SuperstitionSat

and in endlessness begotten, endless swarms of light are thronging
towards life, forever driven by an infinite of longing.
And in this great world, we, children of a world grotesquely small,
raise upon our tiny planet anthills to o'ertop the All...

🚀They differ in origin: from the lab, the garbage dump, Jurassic Park, and the anthill of the mysterious cave.
🎁Which one of them will you be?
Giant Anteater
Giant anteaters walk on their knuckles to protect their long, sharp claws they use to dig into anthills. They will eat around 30,000 ants and termites every day but they will never completely empty a mound so the colony can recover until they return.

In anthills and on mountain tops,
Underwater, underground!
In forests, caves, up in the sky:
That’s where our spirits can be found!
Up and down and all around,
That’s where our spirits can be found!

Philippines #6: Dwende
A dwende is the Filipino variation of a mythical dwarf. They’re said to live under rocks, in caves, by old trees, in dark corners of your house, or in anthills and termite mounds. (Some say the Nuno sa Punso is a dwende, but that’s debated.) 🧵👇🏼
I guess I stepped in an anthill. There were suddenly a bunch of bites on my ankles and they burnnnn
