This thing is so good. I believe “The Hour of the Dragon” has supplanted “The Frost-Giant’s Daughter” as my favorite of The Cimmerian installments. I really needed this French palate cleanser to wash away the taste of that Bêlit & Valeria rot.

The Ladies of Conan:
BÊLIT - Conan’s great love as a young man and pirate Queen of the Black Coast whose lust for riches ultimately led to her downfall, although death itself proved no bar to her coming to Conan’s aid.
Art: John Buscema, Becky Cloonan, Sana Takeda, Kael Ngu
@Northlander74 My barbarian definitely had to be named Bêlit 🤘
A much better read than the comic itself is the Bêlit story “Bone Whispers” by Michael A. Stackpole that ran through AGE OF CONAN: BÊLIT issues 1-5.
on sait désormais comment s'est terminée la romance entre Conan et Bêlit…
"Look at me, Conan!" She threw her arms wide. "I am Bêlit, queen of the black coast. Oh, tiger of the North, you are as cold as the snowy mountains which bred you. ... I am a queen by fire and steel and slaughter - be thou my king!"
- Queen of the Black Coast by Robert E. Howard
Weird Tales (May 1934): The feature story is Robert E. Howard's "Queen of the Black Coast" art
It concerns Conan becoming a notorious pirate and plundering the coastal villages of Kush alongside Bêlit, a head-strong femme fatale
