Day 221 - St Peter’s church, Littlebury Green, Essex.

I discovered this little gem on my walk tonight. Built in 1885 it is one of only a few Victorian Tin Tabernacles that still stand today as a place of worship.

Watercolour and pen.

Our conference on medieval inns yesterday went very well. One of the case studies was Maldon’s Blue Boar 🐗, Essex. The building has origins in the late C14 and probably became an inn c.1540 following the addition of a fine rear lodging range.

He was there when it all started and yet he accepted to sit at the table with Apocalypse, following orders from that same monster and others just as monstrous as him, like the N Essex.
But now he's just choosing to turn a blind eye to the lie he also helped to build.

Calm Before the Danes: Guest Post by Annie Whitehead : My novel, To Be a Queen, tells the story of Aethelflaed, daughter of Alfred the Great. She effectively became ruler of what was by then little more than a satellite kingdom of Wessex. https://t.co/lpyDhWUbj8

St. Walpurga's brothers were St. Winibald and St. Willibald. Their mother was St. Wuna.

Of Wessex.

Imagining their playground days with those names I get why they moved to Germany.

No word yet on implied go-Kart rival Saints Malpurga, Millibald etc.

How to Embrace a Swamp Creature is a Belonging outside Belonging game about mentally ill swamp things in a deprived commuter town.
It's also a semi-autobiographical processing of feelings about growing up queer and nuerodivergent in Essex. https://t.co/NpUIuRHhrH

Yes, just like everyone else on Krakoa, Scott must report to and follow orders from the same monsters that destroyed his and his son's life, including the N Essex.
And it's like he just isn't himself anymore, 'cause the real Cyclops would never accept that,

No wonder he used to say Scott was a villain, a monster and a jerk just because he dared prioritize the survival of his people, but now it's okay for the Krakoans to ally themselves with N and other monsters like Apocalypse and Essex. 😏

"Listen to me Essex. Breathe. Breathe. Feel the air. Feel that wind on your face. Feel the sea. You’re no longer you now. You’re a part of something greater. You’re a part of humanity’s hope now.

Now do it.

Fight, Essex. Fight."
