Violet introduced Munnings to Exmoor after they married. In 1920, she bought a cottage at Wootton Courtenay where they would spend time.

Munnings wrote he had “nothing to do except paint and play around”.

Riding out on the moors he captured the landscape & wild Exmoor ponies.
