I always liked Mario’s waterpack FLUDD from Super Mario Sunshine, as a kid. Hindsight being 20/20, I wish there had been toys (as well as the hover nozzle being a default double jump).
That being said,

IMO, the hover nozzle attachment should have been a double-jump in Super Mario Sunshine (vs a separate toggle).

very old Mario Sunshine 2 concepts. The idea was that this time Bowser Jr kidnaps E Gadd and he uses more of his tech to get big n strong like his dad. Mario uses a new FLUDD with more forms to kill Jr or something I dont remember.

Pinna Park's famous roller coaster is under attack by an enormous robotic Bowser! The only way to stop its rampage is for Mario to ride the coaster, firing water-filled Rockets with FLUDD directly into its maw. Its head can also work as a furnace.
